Synopsis:
This short documentary tells the story of the resilience and hope of the Uvalde community, as they work on a therapeutic arts engagement project led by Wanda Montemayor, LPC-S ATCS ATR-BC RPT-S (she/her) shortly after the tragic shooting at Robb Elementary. For 1 year, Wanda and a team of art therapists provided creative tile making workshops to Uvalde children, families, teachers, and community leaders, giving them a safe space to process and connect with each other as they began their healing journeys. The project resulted in a beautiful mosaic mural filled with thousands of handmade tiles, each telling a unique story. The Uvalde Love Project is a powerful example of how art therapy and community collaboration can bring hope, healing, and joy to a town in need.
