What is PAIFF?
PAIFF, the Puerto Aventuras International Film Festival, is an international film festival celebrating independent cinema from around the world in the Riviera Maya.
Where does PAIFF take place?
PAIFF takes place in Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo, Mexico, with screenings and events held at select festival venues throughout the community. The venues may vary each year (season) as the festival continues to grow.
When is the festival held?
PAIFF is held annually at the beginning of Spring, usually in March. Festival dates, screening times, and venue details are announced on the official website each season.
Who are the PAIFF judges and how do they decide on the official selections, early bird winners, and the final annual awards??
PAIFF’s judging committee includes more than 20 anonymous industry voices, including core staff, festival professionals, past PAIFF winners, and select members of the international film community. Anonymity helps protect the integrity of the process and limits outside influence. Early Bird winners are typically chosen by core staff as standout early submissions, Official Selections are based on broader committee ratings and recommendations, and the Final Annual Awards are shaped in large part by audience response and the impact of the live screenings themselves.
